Position Summary

Grey Fox is hiring two Vice Presidents/Senior Associates to execute retained, thesis-driven origination searches for private equity clients.

VPs/Senior Associates at Grey Fox are not list-builders or support staff. From the start, they own mandate execution: translating investment criteria into precise market views with our data team, leading founder outreach, qualifying fit, and preparing investor-facing deliverables. This role is fully client-facing, with direct founder engagement and responsibility for presenting opportunities to investment teams.

You will work directly with the founder and with client investment teams, co-owning themes and driving origination strategy. The role offers direct mentorship, meaningful client exposure, and clear opportunities to grow as the firm scales.

Responsibilities

• Execute retained, thesis-driven origination searches for private equity clients.
• Partner with the data team to convert investment criteria into precise market maps.
• Lead founder conversations with curiosity, empathy, and discipline to assess fit and build trust.
• Prepare and deliver investor-ready updates, memos, and qualification materials.
• Work directly with investment teams to align on themes and qualify opportunities.
• Maintain disciplined CRM tracking and clear funnel reporting.
• Contribute to the refinement of Grey Fox's origination systems and process design.
• Grow into a leadership role as Grey Fox expands, building and managing a team that reflects the firm's values.
• Minimal travel required (<10%).

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3+ years of experience in private equity or buy-side origination.
• Demonstrated exposure to proprietary deal sourcing and a track record of contributed or closed transactions.
• Intellectually curious; capable of learning new industries quickly and engaging with credibility.
• Treats origination as a craft and continuously sharpens process and judgment.
• Resilient; understands origination requires consistency, endurance, and focus.
• High EQ and humility; able to win trust from both founders and investors.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; disciplined with process and CRM.
• Values long-term outcomes and strong relationships over short-term wins.
• Interest or experience in business services and consumer services is a plus.
• US-based remote role; US work authorization required.
