Questions we get.

One of the buyers we represent has a specific reason to be interested in your company, established in research before anyone called. On the call you learn which buyer it is, why it is interested and where your company stands in its thinking.

We study far more companies than we ever call. A call from us means that your business fits a specific strategy one of our clients is pursuing, and that the fit held up under research before we reached out.

No. Grey Fox does not list companies or run sale processes. We represent buyers, and your company is discussed only with the buyer whose strategy it fits.

The buyer retains and pays us. You pay no fee for an introduction.

Our clients are firms with a distinct track record, a history of doing right by the founders they have backed, and something specific to offer the business they are approaching. We hold to that standard because the owner on the other end of the call is trusting our judgment about who is behind it.

Because we call with a specific reason, we have the track record and the expertise to back our judgment, and we treat each founder’s business with the nuance it deserves.

The call is built around your questions. It ends in one of three ways: with an introduction to the investor, with a date to talk again, or with nothing further.

You meet the decision makers at the firm, who will already know your industry, and you take the measure of them and of the fit for your business and your people.

Yes. What you share stays between Grey Fox and the firm behind the call, and an NDA is signed once both sides see a fit.

The first call is about what you are trying to solve for, whether that is growth, a transition, or succession, and about the shape of the business, your role in it, and your timing.

No. Many of the owners we speak with are years away from any decision. The relationship is what matters at that stage: you learn about us and about our client, we learn what you are looking for, and by the time you are ready to decide, the groundwork is already in place.

Each mandate carries a retainer and a success fee.

No. One firm holds a sector at a time, with exclusivity that carries a tail beyond the end of the mandate, and it runs in both directions: you do not engage another buy-side firm for the thesis, and we do not take another client in the sector.

Once we are in market, we expect qualified opportunities within two weeks.

Yes. Each of our clients has offered to stand as a reference, and you can speak with any of them.
